About
About BerlinLocaleLab, on a workshop card
BerlinLocaleLab is a small, remote studio that does one thing: helps lawful adult businesses succeed in German search. We research German keywords, localise sites for German buyers and German law, and produce German content, keeping explicit material inside the closed user group that German youth protection law requires.

Workshop principles
- 1Germany only
One market understood well, rather than many understood roughly.
- 2Law before layout
The JMStV, the DDG and § 312j BGB decide what a page can be before design does.
- 3Native German
Every German page written or checked by a German speaker.
- 4Plain reporting
A written monthly report in English, with German examples where they help.

A young workshop
BerlinLocaleLab started in 2026. We have no client names to show yet and will publish none without written agreement. Our fees sit under pricing, and our methods in the insights, of which German keyword research is the natural first read.
How the workshop runs
- German first. Research, briefs and writing start in German, not in translation.
- Law before layout. JMStV, DDG, BGB and PAngV shape pages before design does.
- Native review. Every German page is read by a second native speaker before it goes live.
- Plain reports. One monthly report with German figures side by side with English ones, whatever they show.
Sources we work from
Our notes rely on the JMStV and the KJM's guidance, including the FAQs on the December 2025 reform; the Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz; the BGB and PAngV as applied to online shops; the TDDDG; guidance from the European Consumer Centre Germany and the IHK; and Google's documentation. We are not lawyers; legal questions go to your German adviser, and each workshop note carries the date it was last checked.
The first month in the workshop
Once the free audit is done, two weeks go into checking the closed user group boundary, legal pages, checkout wording and how Google reads the German site. The next two weeks turn findings into tickets, start the German keyword map and agree, with you, the first pages to write and their order. By the month's end the German foundations are mapped and the first fixes are moving, on the course chosen under pricing.
Work for others
Shop builds, programming, age checks and legal opinions belong to specialists. Our part is a clear German or English ticket for each of them, followed by a check that each change landed as intended.
Working with the workshop
The workshop works remotely with businesses across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and with Berlin venues in particular. Shared documents, short video calls and a monthly report in German or English replace office visits and long meetings. German writers and reviewers are native speakers who know the subject and the rules, and the same people stay on your account wherever possible, because familiarity with your range and voice is what makes German pages better over time.
Contact in either language
You can write to the workshop in German or English, and reports come in whichever you prefer.
Questions
Are you based in Berlin?
We work remotely with Germany as our only market, and with German native speakers on every page. You will find the operating company in our terms, which include the Impressum.
Do you plan launches in several countries?
No. We focus on Germany and, where needed, Austria and Switzerland. Choosing between many markets is a different, broader kind of work.
Do you give legal advice?
No. We know where German rules shape search and content, and we work alongside your lawyer on the legal texts themselves.
German market search audit
Find out how German searchers see your site
Tell us what you sell and whether you already serve Germany. We check how your pages rank in German, which terms German buyers actually use, and what German youth protection rules mean for your pages, and reply with a plan for the German site. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
